Vienna’s Pediatric Palliative Home Care Team MOMO cares for children and adolescents between the ages of 0 and 18 who are suffering from terminal and life-threatening diseases.
The multi-professional team provides support at home for seriously ill children and their affected family members, including siblings, parents and grandparents: medical care, nursing care, psychological support, music therapy, social work care and voluntary hospice work. If required, this can be made available from the time of diagnosis – for several weeks or many years. The care provided by Vienna’s Pediatric Palliative Home Care Team MOMO is just as unique as the individual needs of every seriously ill child and every family situation.
The pediatric palliative home care service fosters a holistic understanding of the children, adolescents and young adults, and treats them with respect and honesty regardless of background, worldview or social status. The efforts focus on maintaining and improving the quality of life of the patients and their families. Whenever possible, the patient’s family home should be the primary place of care.
Support from MOMO is free of charge for the families, regardless of the number of visits by a MOMO employee or their length of stay. Because every family of a seriously ill child should have access to professional hospice and palliative care that is affordable.
Vienna’s Pediatric Palliative Home Care Team MOMO relies largely on the generosity of voluntary donors.
